ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Magento 2 Full Stack Developer to help build and evolve our US-based eCommerce platforms end-to-end. In this role, you will implement complex features, optimize performance, and mentor other developers while working closely with our Magento Architect and US-based business stakeholders.
You will work directly with a US engineering and product team, collaborating in English on production systems used by customers across North America. This position offers the opportunity to work with the latest eCommerce technologies, architectures, and best practices (modern Magento development, integrations, performance optimization, CI/CD, etc.), helping you grow your skills and align your experience with US market standards.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Design, develop, and maintain custom Magento 2 modules, themes, and integrations
Own features end-to-end: development, implementation, testing, deployment, and support
Customize and extend core Magento 2 functionality using best practices (dependency injection, plugins, observers, UI components)
Integrate Magento with third-party systems (ERP, CRM, marketing tools, etc.) via REST/SOAP/GraphQL APIs and webhooks
Improve performance and scalability (caching, indexers, database queries, frontend performance)
Work closely with the US-based team in English via Teams, standups, and code reviews
Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and maintain high code quality
Mentor mid-level developers, sharing Magento best practices and patterns
Contribute to continuous improvement of our development process, tooling, and architecture
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
7+ years of professional experience in web development
5+ years of hands-on experience with Magento 2 (Open Source or Adobe Commerce) 2.4.x
Strong skills in PHP 8, OOP, and common design patterns
Solid experience with:
Custom Magento 2 module development (di.xml, events/observers, plugins, UI components, console commands, cron jobs)
Theme development (layout XML, PHTML, LESS/SASS/CSS, RequireJS/Knockout, UI components)
MySQL: schema design, complex queries, indexes, performance tuning
Practical experience with REST APIs (GraphQL is a plus)
Proficient with Git and modern workflows (feature branches, pull requests, code review, conflict resolution)
Strong expertise in Magento performance optimization
Experience with large catalogs, high-traffic stores, and multi-website / multi-storeview setups
Confident in Linux-based environments and Magento CLI
Good understanding of web and Magento security best practices (XSS, CSRF, SQL injection, etc.)
Strong skills in troubleshooting Magento production issues
Experience with New Relic
Strong experience with RabbitMQ
Solid knowledge of Varnish and Redis
Experience working with Docker/container environments
Knowledge of Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
Excellent English communication skills
Ability to work with partial overlap with US time zones
NICE TO HAVE
Experience with Adobe Commerce (Enterprise & Cloud), incl. B2B and Page Builder
Experience in the book industry
Magento certifications
Experience with headless or PWA architectures (PWA Studio, Vue Storefront, React/Next.js)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
Familiarity with eCommerce analytics, SEO, and A/B testing
